5 Reasons an Electric Car is Better Than a Hybrid Car in Pakistan

Pakistan is one of a few countries where an electric vehicle is still an innovation. Because of not keeping pace with the rest of the world, the country is left behind in technological advancement. During the past few years, international brands like MG motors have set the foot in the country and introduced the concept of the electric car in Pakistan as a solution to many problems.

Many people debate about hybrid cars as an innovative problem-solving option too but here are five reasons that prove in favor of the Electric Car.

i. Electric car is environment friendly

Electric cars are known to be environmental safety catalysts worldwide. They do not emit any harmful smoke or produce disturbing noise that might cause air or noise pollution. On the other hand, the hybrid car runs on petrol as well which does not serve the purpose of reducing the world’s pollution very well. It makes consumers consider the option of refueling the car easily on a petrol pump as electric charging stations are scarce in Pakistan.

When one thing si easily available, people hardly ever go for the other. So, hybrid cars are an obstacle to creating a pollution-free automobile. It might serve until we have enough electric charging stations to serve the masses but hybrid cars must not be confused with long-term solutions.

ii. Electric motor is safer

An electric car has an electric motor, unlike a hybrid car which has both electric and combustible engines. This electric motor is fueled by a battery that gets charged on the electric charging station. And when the electric vehicle is on a long ride, its battery might get warm but no threat occurs to the motor. In a hybrid vehicle, the petrol engine gets heated and the chance of explosion is higher. Whereas in the case of the electric car, the connection between battery and motor is automatically cut off when the threat is posed.

So, the cars are safe from damage in the middle of the road which also saves lives. But when the electric motor is switched off, the vehicle stands idle in the middle of the road and is usually heavy which makes it hard to drag on the side. So, unless the loading transport arrives and the vehicle is delivered to mechanics for repair, the traffic remains blocked.

It’s better if the situation is avoided by checking the battery’s charging before taking the vehicle out of the house. If the charge is low, take your car to the charging stop as soon as possible.

iii. Less chances of exploison

The combustible engine might explode if the vehicle is not maintained properly or if the engine’s lubrication is not done right. Many such incidents have occurred in Pakistan especially when the car hits someplace during the accident. Electric cars are free of such risks as they have an electric motor that gets switched off automatically. But in case of running out of charging, electric cars are a bit difficult to take to the station without any proper transportation whereas petrol cars might still move to some distance to reach petrol pump.

iv. Less costly than the petrol

Pakistan is facing an immense petrol crisis for a long time now. Fares get high and disturb the personal budget for transportation. An electric car in Pakistan is the best solution to this massive issue as it frees from worries that come from checking petrol prices every day. The only problem is that imported electric cars are way too expensive for ordinary people to drive. If the country starts making its own electric vehicles then this problem would be solved too. A hybrid car would still demand petrol which makes it less desirable.

v. A greater change

Electric cars give us the visual of a crisis and pollution-free world. That’s why many people are invested in making these vehicles affordable for everyone. They represent a change that is necessary to make this world a better and healthy place for the next generations. Hybrid Cars might sound like innovation but don’t fit in the big picture as they still make us depend on natural fuel.

And if we keep consuming the natural fuel like petrol, LNG, LPG, or CNG just to burn and turn it into smoke. Soon we would be out of natural resources that cannot be replaced for industrial use. Then the crisis would not be limited just to automobile consumers, other aspects of our lives would be affected badly, leading to overall poor living conditions.
